Welcome to Nordic Theatre Union

Nordic Theatre Union (NTU) unites the stage art communities of the Nordic region. NTU is the forum for maintaining and further developing the fruitful artistic and organizational exchanges that take place within Nordic performing arts.

All Nordic countries are members of Nordic Theatre Union. NTU was founded in 1948 and has its board as the decision-making forum. The board consists of a number of Nordic theatre personalities.

The chairmanship changes between the countries for a two-year period. From 2007 - 2009, Finland holds the chairmanship c/o TINFO - The Finnish Theatre Information Centre. TINFO is the Finnish Centre of the International Theatre Institute (ITI) and the Nordic Theatre Union (NTU). Our office is located in the centre of Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Nordic Theatre Unions Sec. General is Riitta Seppälä. Chairman of The Nordic Theatre Union board is Raija-Sinikka Rantala.
